Great NorthWest may provide your account with a specific Overdraft Privilege limit depending on the type of account you have. This limit allows the account to be overdrawn up to a disclosed limit for a fee for the transaction to be paid. 


If qualified:

  • Consumer accounts shall receive a letter after 35 days of account opening
  • Business accounts shall receive a letter after 65 days of account opening

The letter is to inform you that Overdraft Privilege has been activated on your account.


If you have additional Overdraft Protection, such as a transfer from another account, Overdraft Privilege is still available as a secondary coverage if other protection sources have been exhausted. 


Please be aware that the Overdraft Privilege amount is not included in your available balance displayed through:

  • Online Banking
  • Mobile Banking
  • Telephone Banking
  • Or Great NorthWest ATMs
